Man facing multiple charges, accused of killing his landlords

TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. -- Thirty-six-year-old Adam M. Balcer appeared in Tuscola County District Court for arraignment facing 17 charges. Blacer is accused of killing his landlords.

Blacer was charged and arraigned on two counts of open murder, one count of first-degree home invasion, one count of unlawful imprisonment, three counts of tampering with evidence, three counts of felon in possession of a firearm, one count of felon in possession of ammunition and six counts of felony firearms.

Authorities say the body of 45-year-old Peter Brodick Jr. was found Friday in a Watertown Township home, southeast of Saginaw. The body of 55-year-old Wendy Brodick was found Sunday near an unused farm silo in Millington Township.

Police said both were believed to have been slain Friday morning. Wendy Brodick was Peter Brodick Jr.'s stepmother.

Balcer's bond was set at $2 million. He has requested a court-appointed attorney. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for April 16.
