Saginaw police and Michigan State Police are investigating a murder that happened on the city's east side.

Sergeant Reggie Williams says a body was found by a couple walking along a Consumers Energy utility trail near 17th and Burt just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

That victim was identified as 49-year-old Dennis Johnson.

Williams says Johnson appeared to have been shot.

Police say they have no suspect information right now and the investigation is ongoing.
