Sam Ali

Sam joined the Mid-Michigan Now team in June of 2022 as the Sports Director. When asked why he took the job, he paused and said, “Well, it was my passion for storytelling"

Before coming to Mid-Michigan, Sam was the Sports Director at the FOX affiliate in Duluth, MN and spent time before that running the sports department at the ABC affiliate in Marquette, MI. He still owns a shovel because he learned that you can never be sure if the snow will be back, no matter what time of the year it is.

Sam has three children. If you ask him how old they are, he will pause, do some quick math and still probably be wrong. This is helpful when he takes his family out to the buffet.

Sam is originally from Dearborn and went to college at Wayne State University in Detroit. He is happy to be back in Michigan, but even more happy to be a safe distance from both of those locations.
